The first ball of the 2023 IPL will be bowled tomorrow, and Ben will be making his debut for Chennai Super Kings.
In the opening game, CSK will take on the 2022 Champions Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. Reports have suggested that Ben will be playing as a specialist batter in this match.
During the tied series in New Zealand back in February, it was apparent that Ben was having problems with his left knee.
Since returning to England, news circulated suggesting Ben had received treatment on his troublesome knee.
As Ben strives for peak fitness in India, the CSK camp have indicated Ben’s bowling will probably not feature early in their campaign.
It has already been stated that Ben will fulfil his contract with CSK – but he will be returning home before the play-offs.
This will allow Ben time to prepare for a crucial summer of Test cricket when he will lead England in the Ashes series.
