Ben in Test Squad

Earlier today (21 July) Ben was recalled to the England squad to face India. Due to COVID, Chris Silverwood announced his 17 player squad for just the first two Tests of the five match LV= Insurance series.

Ben last played Test cricket in March when he tool 4-89 as England fell to an innings and 25 run defeat to India in Ahmedabad.

Back in July 2014, Ben made his Test debut against India. Since then he has made one half-century and recorded best bowling figures of 4-40 in six home Tests vs. India.

With the little matter of The Hundred to complete first, Ben and the England squad will have to wait until 4 August for the first Test.

It's been a stop and start 2021 for Ben. After recovering from a broken finger sustained in the IPL, he returned to playing with Durham. He was then asked to captain a replacement England ODI team for the recent series against Pakistan.

After leading England to a 3-0 series win over Pakistan, reports suggest Ben has not fully recovered from his finger injury.
