Yet again, Ben has added to his bulky portfolio of match winning performances for England. This time, the stage for his 5 star batting was the T20 World Cup Final at the MCG.
Ben set aside the pressure of the occasion to guide England to a 5 wicket win over Pakistan. Under the Melbourne lights, he crafted an innings of 52* as England chased down their target of 138.
England were 45-3 in the sixth over, when Ben took his guard. Pacing his innings to the conditions and match situation, England remained favourites so long as Ben was at the crease.
With his score on 44, Ben passed 3000 T20 runs, of greater importance the scoreboard kept ticking over towards the target.
With an over remaining Ben guided England to World Cup victory - his 52*(1 six, 5 fours) taking 49 balls.
